Hiding Places

Pretty pink begonia sits on my front porch, enjoying the sunny day. Hmmmm... what's hiding under one of her petals?
Looks like a couple of creepy-crawlies....

Yikes! How did they all get in here? Must be having a party, or a sleep-over by the looks of things.

Even in this brand-new begonia bud, we can glimpse another creepy-crawly taking a nap. Or checking out the weather before heading off to find food.

Ah.. there he goes! Off to work. Or whatever earwigs do when they're not climbing on petals or napping in the buds.
Not my favourite of insects, but they do make taking flower pics more interesting and fun!

Hi, Wendy,
We had rain all that Saturday and into the next day. It was a record downfall for us...now it's sunny and hot again. It takes fall a while to arrive in Florida. I'll be going to Virginia soon to visit Ella during October. I'm looking forward to the cooler weather there.

Beautiful Wendy... I have some Begonias around the yard in pots also. They take so little 'care' ---and yet bring color to the yard/porch/deck all summer... I love the color of yours... Thanks for sharing --along with your buggies.
Hugs,
Betsy

You're right Wendy. Bugs make blooms more interesting. That shade of pink is lovely!

You never know what you might find hiding in the garden! I think we were thinking along similar lines this week, Wendy:) I enjoy the bees and butterflies, but not all insects are quite so welcome here. Your begonia looks beautiful!

Lovely pictures Wendy, - I LOVE the earwigs! Did you know that they have wings? They are very usefull animals and keep the garden clean. They'll eat half rotten fruits, dead insects or aphids.
Though their usefull effect switchs almost complety if there are too many of them. LOL LOL

Lots of hugs
Carin

I'll admit, I got a little creepy crawly myself when I was looking at those things... But, I love how you approached them. As fun little buggers who have a right to be here with us. And yes, maybe they were partying in your beautiful begonias!

Love all the flower pictures, and still love love love the Johnny Jump Up image (that's what the purpose & white one is, right?).

Wendy, see you are having fun with your new camera. Macro is wonderful to experiment with. Great shots of the bugs. I hope they don't decide to start eating your lovely begonias!

Normally I would be going "eeeuuuwww!" about the earwig pictures but with the way the shots were taken .. and the commentary, this was rather could and more in "their" tiny world ? : )
Your blog is very pretty, girl !

Your pictures are lovely. The earwigs can stay outdoors. I don't like finding them in hidden places in my home.
