Long Overdue....

These pics go way back to last spring!  And on into the early summer.  The last three were taken in the fall.   I'm way behind!!

Heavy fog on a Spring morning...
.....swirls over the lake,  giving this house a spooky appearance.

and giving this man a hazy, almost ethereal aura as he walks on the grass in front of my balcony...

All clear - the spooks have moved out. Nice to live in a house that looks like a castle!

Every day this man walks by my window.... pulling his belongings.

I wonder where he goes......
A pair of snow geese dropped in for a quick visit one day.  I'd never seen snow geese before.

Two days later these birds (o.k. geese) had flown.

Proud Mama Duck gave me a warning look.

Swimming lessons.  Mamma still on guard. I dare not step any closer.

Early summer. The geese are growing up. At first glance,  I couldn't tell which were adults and which were the "kids".

Learning to find their own food....

"Eeks!  This water's too cold for me!"

Autumn leaves are gone.  People still walk the shoreline. What is he looking for?

His bag looks heavy with treasure he has found on his travels.

I don't know why he captures my interest.  He seems so lonely.  Almost looks like a homeless person, but there are no homeless people around here.

Hi Wendy, Great to hear from you....Love these photos. Your header also is fabulous.

Makes me wonder also about the old man and his 'stuff'... Wonder if he is lonely? Makes me sad.

How are you???? Taken anymore cruises lately?

Hugs,
Betsy

I am interested in the lone man, also. He doesn't look homeless...but he does look like he knows what his mission is. Is there any way to find out about him? Mysterious...and interesting beyond words.
You live in a beautiful area.
I've missed you, and I send you smiles from South Georgia.
Hugs,
Jackie

Your photos are lovely. When you find out anything about the man, let us know. It's good to see you on here. I should do a post sometime.

Glad you are OK. Its been a long time!
Your photos are really lovely and all of them are excellent. I love the ducks and the one with the chicks, especially.
That man looked really cold but I see he was definitely determined to get some treasures from the lakes edge.
I wonder what he was looking for in particular?

Wendy, these pics are wonderful. Your photos of the older man create such fine mystery. That first one in particular is so moody.. as is the foggy house across the water. Of course ducklings and goslings are always lovely to see. And with your photos going back several months, I no longer feel too bad about doing the same lately.

What is the scoop on that man and his bag? You should use your writing talents to annotate that one! I feel it would make a wonderful children's story.

The man could be a collector. We have the aluminum can collectors here. And there are the people who are care takers. They clean up what others drop. It is amazing how many people do this. One man went to the small lake every day to make sure it was kept clean. At a park by my old house. It gave him something to do. I love the photo's. The castle is awesome. You live in an amazing location. It if so full of natures beauty. Hugs to you. :)

Hi, Wendy. I love the fog pictures...the spooky house and the man dragging his worldly possessions behind him. Thanks for your visit to my blog today.

Great photos! I've got some I've never posted that I need to drag out, too. That man is very mysterious, especially now that you say he couldn't be homeless!

Hi Wendy, good to see you back on your blog. I was beginning to wonder if you had flown south with the geese. The lonely man is very strange, I think you should have a chat to him and find out what's in the bag, and let us all know!

Lovely nature photos, Wendy.

The lone man may not be homeless in a literal sense, but his heart may be homeless.

I bet a soft approach and an invitation for a coffee could work. Although I wouldn't recommend doing something like that alone. The buddy system is unfortunately a necessity in today's world.

Did you ever find out anything more about the man in the photo...?
The mystery man?
Hugs and love,
Jackie

No, I haven't found out anything else about that man. It's winter now and I don't see him. Perhaps the snow inhibits his search for treasure.

I thought about approaching him way back when I first spotted him out my window, but figured by the time I left my condo, out the front doors, down the steps onto the sidewalk, he'd be gone.

I only saw him close up that once by the shore when I took his pic and something held me back from approaching him. He looks so vulnerable, I felt somehow my presence wouldn't be welcome - or he'd stare right through me as if I wasn't really there; seems like he's in his own world.

I wanted to bring him home and feed him. Yeah, I know - but being a Grandma, my instincts are to feed and look after everybody. I would not be worried for my own safety in the least. This is a safe area and I have a security desk down the hall from my first floor condo. Not that we need "security" - it's more for making sure the building runs smoothly, routing delivery trucks to the rear entrance, etc. etc. - boring stuff.

I love all your photos, Wendy; the first one does look very eerie. I'm glad to know you're not really living next to a haunted house:) But the photos that really intrigue me are of the older gentleman. He doesn't look like a homeless person, but carrying the bag around is rather strange. It makes you wonder what has happened to him and if he has anyone who cares about him. So sad.

You have some lovely photos here Wendy, some of them very atmospheric. I love the fairy castle ;-) The elderly gentleman is very intriguing. I too am intrigued by people who pass my window particularly the elderly. The photos with mama duck were very sweet :-)

Wonderful photos, Wendy. That man looks mysterious indeed. The fog makes it look more so. I also loved the shots of the geese.

I've started a new blog and it's all about food. I'll be happy if you check it out some time...

Take care,

Kanak

I hope to see Snow Geese sometime but they seldom come this far west. You could write a good story about that man. He certainly has a mysterious way about him.
