O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

I stumbled across this photo shoot one morning as I was walking the beach (in Naples, Florida last month). From far away, all I could see was a Christmas tree growing out of the sand.

Eeks, Christmas already?  But it's summer! Hot, hot, hot. Bathing suit weather. Flip-flops and sunscreen. I had to remember that it was winter back home. And winter here in Florida - just different climates.

As I got closer I realized it was a photo shoot. Not a school play or party or something. I really didn't have a clue when I first spotted that tree so close to the water's edge.
Now it was clear that this family was making a personalized greeting card.  How sweet. Christmas on the beach.
I wasn't sure how they felt about me taking a pic so I waited a bit to see if anybody looked my way.
Nobody paid me any heed. The photographer was busy calling out instructions to the little boy and the mother was watching closely while jostling a toddler on her hip.

Fifth Avenue in downtown Naples. Everything was beautifully decorated. Here's Frosty waiting for snow (ha ha, that won't happen)

Santa must be hot in that outfit! It was about 85F or 29C that evening

Palm trees aglow all up and down the streets. They sure look strange to my eyes.  But oh so nice!

So interesting to see the Christmassy shots of Naples. That family on the beach are very creative in making their own card.

How wonderful, so personal and such an imaginative idea.
I am sure the recipients would love the card.

I cannot imagine Christmas in the heat. It seems so odd.
Lovely images though.

Have fun Wendy.

I have always lived in the Northeast so a warm Christmas just doesn't seem right to me. But people who live in warm areas would probably beg to differ with me. Lovely photos. Have an awesome holiday.

Merry Christmas Wendy. Glad to see your post. Love the pictures; they reminded me of living in Hawaii when I was 7-8. We had some kind of potted plant for a tree and put on our bathing suits and walked to the beach Christmas day. I'd forgotten how strange that seemed the first time.

Dear Wendy - What a lovely idea – Christmas shots at the beach! I’m sure the family was happy with both process and result. Tropical trees also go well with Christmas decorations. Wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Are you back home for Christmas? I'm sure the getaway was nice.

It is almost summer in the southern hemisphere. I think more people in the world have a tropical Christmas rather than a white Christmas. I would take a warm beach for Christmas any time over our cold winter weather.

I know that Christmas and Easter are celebrated by a lot of folks but I actually cannot handle them, there is something I am unable to put my finger on... even though the lights are very attractive and I do enjoy seeing them but the rest is a No, no.

Hi Wendy...Happy New Year!

That's a real sweet Christmas photo of the child and Christmas tree on the beach. I love how imaginative families can become when it comes to their annual Christmas photos.

Thanks for stopping by Harmonie House... I mean, Ninth Brook Cottage. I guess I should change the name of the blog soon. It's always lovely having you stop by. You've been a true blue, loyal follower all these years. I truly appreciate you!

Here's to an amazing year filled with good health, wonder, and bliss. Hugs!
xoxo
